Loch Ness Gate House Hotel - Fort Augustus

Right in the heart of the city, very convenient. Had double room with very comfy beds, contact sheet, as for instance.

Arriving and discovering no one at reception was quite frustrating!!! A clearer check-in procedure would ensure guests aren't left stranded or confused upon arrival. Communication prior to arrival needs significant improvement!!!

The fine views of the surrounding nature were amazing on arrival I also appreciated the secure parking on-site which added to my peace of mind.

Couple getaway in a nice spot

The staff was helpful, Martin from the café got us all set with key card, and recommended great pub food spots. The view from our room over the locks was practically cinematic, every morning started with pure bliss watching the boats go through.

It wasn't exactly budget-friendly, but acceptable for the quality received.

I stayed in a Double or Twin Room for one night. The room was really clean and had a nice layout. Good shower! It had an iron & board, handy. But, it was a bit small with a sloped ceiling. If you're tall, you might feel cramped. The views were lovely, especially overlooking the canal. Comfortable, but watch your head if you're on the taller side!

Clean and well-decorated room with easy parking. The compact toilet was uncomfortable, and there were creaky floors that contributed to a noisy night. The lack of a warm welcome and clear instructions for entry left much to be desired, taking away from the beautiful location.

The location is fantastic, right in the heart of town, with excellent nearby pubs and restaurants. The room was spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately, the check-in process was confusing, and there was a lack of hospitality, which diminished the experience. Cleanliness was also a concern, with leftover wrappers in the drawers. While the breakfast selection was decent, the overall atmosphere felt quite clinical and unwelcoming.

Awesome location near the water. The Double or Twin Room had a private bathroom, tv, heating, hairdryer, and free toiletries. We loved the shower and the cozy vibe of the place. Breakfast at the cafe below served fresh pastries and great coffee. Perfect spot.

Consider requesting solar-powered LED lights for the pathway to improve visibility when entering at night.

Our stay was primarily to explore the nearby attractions, and the location was perfect, just steps away from the Caledonian Canal. The room was spacious and had a cozy atmosphere, making it a comfortable retreat after our day's activities. We particularly enjoyed the delicious breakfast from the café downstairs, and the friendly atmosphere made our experience even better.

The location was amazin right on Neptune's steps n really picturesque. The room was super clean n comfy, and we had a nice view of the locks. It was easy to walk around n find places to eat. Martin from the cafe was really helpful n told us about local spots.

But the walls were kinda thin so you could hear other guests. There wasn't much milk for the tea. Some food smells wafted up from the cafe below which was a bit annoying.
